- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge in specialized nutritional procedures in gastroenterology and pancreatic diseases. it is based on the etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, course of the disease, treatment options.The subject will also be the issue of food allergies and intolerances.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to determine individual nutritional procedures and measures for individual diseases, principles of dietary measures in treatment and prevention, food choice, recommended technological procedures, oral intake or enteral nutrition.
- Syllabus
- 1.Physiological, metabolic and nutritional aspects of diseases of the digestive tract 2.Etiology, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment options, complications and prevention of diseases of the digestive tract 3. Specialized nutritional practices intestinal stoma and after intestinal surgery.Indications perform a stoma - tumors, trauma, infections, congenital defects. Caring for patients with stoma. Individual types stoma. Diet and stoma care. Early complications. Late complications. Conditions after intestinal surgery, short bowel syndrome. Nutritional problems in surgery patients with intestinal and bowelstoma. Oral intake. Artificial enteral and parenteral nutrition. Principles of dietary measures. Allowed and prohibited food and technological processes. Idiopathic treatment options, complications. Principles diets for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. 4. Specific nutritional approach for diseases of the pancreas Etiology, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment options, complications. Artificial nutrition in diseases of the pancreas and the transition to pancreatic diet. The main principles and the stages of pancreatic diet. 5. The specialized nutritional practices in diseases of the esophagus, stomach and duodenal ulcers.Etiology,clinical features, diagnosis, treatment options, complications in individual peptic disease. Diet in the prevention and treatment of peptic disease, the technology of cooking. 6.Definition of food allergy. Definition of food intolerance. Characteristics and treatment options. Nutrition as a way to suppress symptoms or a significant part of treatment. Risks resulting from the elimination of food groups from your diet without proof of medical diagnosis.
