- Course objectives
- The concept of the course The nursing care in Infectious diseases is theoretically-practical.It is focused on patient of all ages with clinical and laboratory markers of infectious diseases.It is concetrated on early diagnosis of infectious diseases, principles of barrier care methods, prevention of hospilality-acquires infections, personal protection, typical diagnosis a isolation by law of selected infectious diseases. It familiarizes students with the special demands of infectious patients to be able to provide high-quality care in close co-operation with the patient´s family. The course will bring knowledge a practical experience of nursing care in both standard and intensive units of departments of infectious diseases.

- After successful graduation the student will be able
- to know the basic differences in care of patient with infectious disease and non-infectious patient
- to use barrier care methods in practice
- to know and practically use aplication of effective methods of healthcare workers protection and prevention of hospitality-acquired infections
- to know and practically use aplication of isolation in selected infectious diseases wih high risk of person-to-person transmission of the infection - Syllabus
- 1. standard unit and intensive-care unit in infectious diseases – differences to other parts of medicine.
