- Course objectives
- The course is focused on chemical, physical and biological examination methods of non-clinical samples. The course includes baselines for statistical analyses, analytical strategies and special procedures for the analyses of water, soils, sediments, biotic samples, foodstuffs, objects of everyday use, wastes, environmental air and working atmosphere; from sampling procedures up to the evaluation of the results in relation to both Czech and European legislation.
- Syllabus
- 1. Introduction to the topic, basic definitions, specification of the problems.; 2. Formulation of the problem and analytical strategy, general strategies of sampling, composite methods and causes of errors; 3. Sample preparation, processing and detection methods; 4. Statistical evaluation of analytical results; 5. Air pollution control, classification of dustiness and dust particles, inorganic and organic substances in the environmental air, working atmosphere, municipal air. Classical analytical methods, automatic gas testers, sensors, warning indicators, information systems.; 6. Water analysis, indicators of water quality.; 7. Inorganic and organic pollutants in soils, sediments, solids particles and wastes in connection with the legislation.; 8. Determination of inorganic and organic pollutants in foodstuffs, biological and clinical materials and objects of everyday use.; 9. Methods of radiation load measuring, microbiological contamination.; 10. Fundamentals of metrology and chemometrics, interpretation of analytical results.; 11. Quality control, quality assurance, good laboratory practice, accreditation.;
