- Course objectives
- Successful thesis production demonstrates the students ability to apply theoretical knowledge onto the solution of specific health care problems, to embrace knowledge of different fields of study, to discover relations between phenomena, and to orientate in academic literature while creatively using it in exploring specific research questions. The student will contact his/her supervisor and discuss the structure, time-schedule, methods of measurement and analysis of the results of the assigned theme of the thesis. The work will be reviewed by the supervisor and an opponent. The opponent, who is determined after mutual agreement by the co-ordinator of the branch of study concerned, will evaluate the thesis in terms of content, methodology and formal style. The thesis will be submitted in accordance with formal requirements (two copies of the thesis, extension 80 - 100 pages). The defence of the thesis will be a part of the final examination.

- The theme of the thesis and determination of the supervisor. o Thesis structure: introduction, aims, subjects and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, summary, bibliography. Basic research methods and their application; PC data processing, introduction into methods of statistics. Literature search, excursion to Medical Library; the Internet and specialized databases Formal style and computer processing of the thesis, data evaluation.
