Course objectives
Subject is in the conection of the theoretical instruction from multicultural nursing. On the basis of the acquired knowledge of the theory of teaching, students apply their knowledge and experiences from practice in the nursing process in the care of selected nationalities and ethnic groups living in the Czech Republic with the use of conceptual model (Joyce Newman Giger, Ruth Elaine Davidhizar - The cultural and considerate tailored care)
Syllabus
  • Ethnic minorities living in the Czech Republic. Ethical aspects and communication in a multicultural nursing (communication barriers, verbal and nonverbal communication, the principles of interpretation). Joyce Newman Giger, Ruth Elaine Davidhizar - Model considerate and culturally tailored care (treatment of selected ethnic groups and ethnic minorities in accordance with the selected model). Nursing process in a multicultural nursing. Spiritual needs of the nursing process (of identifying values and spiritual needs of the patient/client; nursing diagnosis: Spiritual emergency, Conflict in decision-making (specify), Damage of religiosity, The risk of a spiritual emergency, The risk of breach of religiosity, Willingness to improve religiosity, Willingness to improve spiritual well-being
