- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students will know what the principles of drug prescription. They will be able to describe possibilities of pharmacological approaches towards Parkinson´s and Meniere´s diseases and myasthenia gravis. The students will be able to provide pharmacological characteristics of analgesics antiinflammatory drugs, antiuratics, myorelaxants and local anesthetics.

- At the end of the course students will know what the principles of drug prescription. - Syllabus
- 1. lesson: Drug forms and routes of administration. Drugs databases and handbooks (SÚKL database, Pharmindex, AISLP, etc.). Legislation of drug prescription, prescription of narcotic and psychotropic agents.
- 2. lesson: Therapy of Parkinson disease, Menier disease, myasthenia gravis, spasms and dyskinesia.
- 3. lesson: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, therapy of rheumatic diseases. Antiuratics. Anodynes.
- 4. lesson: Myorelaxants. Local anaesthetics. Credits. Organisation of colloquium term.

- Teaching methods
- Students are provided with a pharmacology teacher presentation on the topic stated in curriculum followed by discussion. There are also presented video-programmes to demonstrate pharmacological experiments related to the topic.
