Course objectives
The subject is conceived as practical. It leads students to practical skills in surgical fields, the ability to diagnose and treat patients with surgical disease.
Learning outcomes
Student will be:
Know the causes and symptoms of selected diseases;
Able to prepare patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures;
Practically manage basic and specific nursing care before and after surgery;
Able to independently take care of drains, acute and chronic wounds, splints and immobilizers;
Master basic procedures for sudden, acute conditions and injuries in the pre-hospital emergency care and the ED.
Syllabus
  • Basic and specific nursing care for patients   s ~ surgical disease (diagnostic methods, treatment procedures, preoperative and postoperative care, education, spec. Care drains  ,   acute care and chronic wounds), perioperative care in  ,   s disease urinary system, the digestive tract diseases  ,   s acute abdomen with intestinal outlet with special emphasis on differential diagnosis.
  • skills and knowledge from the area of ​​work of nurses in the operating room, including basic surgical instrumentation.

Practical training of patient treatment with surgical diseases in pre-hospital and hospital care, case studies.
Assessment methods
Based on the information the speaker handles student case study focusing on surgical patients who in the group will present, justify the practice of nursing care.
