- Course objectives
- The main objective is to acquaint students with fundamental legal concepts, that are crucial to the healthcare professionals.
- Learning outcomes
- After the completing of the subject, the student knows: the legal framework on providing healthcare - patient's rights - the issues covered by the Law on Health Services - the roles and competences of respective public institutions active in the health sector
- Syllabus
- 1. The system of law in the Czech Republic, the method of regulation of health care, the most important legal regulations from the point of view of a medical practitioner. Searching for up-to-date information and legal standards 2. Act on Health Services - Systematic and Relationship to Other Legal Standards, Act on Specific Health Services - Systematic 3. Patient's Rights, Rights of Specially Protected Patients - Children and the Disabled, Patient and Patient Relationship at Contract Level, Patient Rights for Specific Health Services 4. Performance of public administration in the field of health. Competencies of individual public authorities and self-governing institutions. 5. The role of the health service provider, prerequisites for the provision of health service

- Teaching methods
- Set of lectures, that are supposed to be complemented by practical seminars (BSPL031c). Self study
- Assessment methods
- Written test that is taken after the end of the lectures. The test consists of both "open questions" and "multiple choice" questions. Student needs 65 points to pass.
