- practicals, class discussion
Practicals in pharmacology thematically follow the lectures, which take place regularly one week in advance. The organization of practicals assume basic knowledge of the material covered in the lecture. This knowledge is further deepened and practised on specific tasks and case studies. In the interactive syllabus of each exercise, there are materials for self-study and preparation for the practicals and a short ROPOT, which must be prepared before each lesson. - Assessment methods
- 3 continuous multiple-choice tests (time limit: 15 min) and 1 prescription test. MCQ tests can be repeated once per semester. The prescription test can be repeated only twice.
Each multiple-choice test contains 15 questions. The number of correct answers is given. Student gets 1 point for each completely correct answer, i.e. maximum 15 points for each multiple-choice test; total 45 points for all three MCQ tests.
The prescription test consists of individually-made and a read-made preparations. For the individually-made preparation the Pharmacopoeial name of the main active substance, its single-therapeutic dose and the drug dosage form will be given. For the ready-made preparation the drug dosage form and the number of original packages to be prescribed will be listed. Database of registered RMP will be available for the test.
To obtain credits, the student has to pass the prescription test successfully and also get at least 6 points from each single multiple-choice test and at least 20 points (minimum) from all three MCQ tests.
Note: Together with the new accreditation of the Pharmacology subject for students of General Medicine, a system of continuous assessment of the student was introduced, when the results achieved in multiple-choice tests in practical lessons and colloquium will be taken into account and included in the final mark of the subject. - Language of instruction
