- Course objectives
- The goal of lessons is to acquaint the students with problematics of treatment and prevence nursing in the field. The student will be acquainted with principal concepts and tasks of paediatrics. The student will be acquainted with prevention, diagnostics and basic therapy of diseases in the childhood. The student is acquainted with the origination, course of the treatment and prognosis of basic nosological units. The student knows the system and contents of preventive examinations, vaccination, dispensarization. The student is able to define risk factors endangering healthy development of child and adolescent.
- Learning outcomes
- The student has knowledge of the origin, course, treatment and prognosis of the most common childhood diseases. The student is able to define risk factors that threaten the healthy development of the child and adolescents.
- Syllabus
- Introduction into paediatrics, characteristic of childhood. Growth, development and behavior. Neonatology, physiologic and high-risk newborn. Nutrition. Inherited metabolic disorders. Genetic of common disorders and birth defects. Aetiology, patophysiology, clinical signs, diagnostics and treatment of diseases in neonates, infants, children and adolescents.
