Course objectives
The course has a practical character, it follows the lectures. The aim is to practice acquired knowledge and their practical application in the diagnosis, treatment and care of a patient with an internal illness.
Learning outcomes
Students in the exercise: get an overview of the competences and procedures paramedic in treating patients with internal diseases;
strengthen the practical skills of standard diagnostic and treatment processes in prehospital care;
Syllabus
  • Basic and specific nursing care in selected groups of diseases, methods of investigation, standard and acute care;
  • practical analysis and solutions of selected case studies with regard to the work of the medical first responders;
  • peculiarities of nursing care in specialized centers, in Internal Medicine with selected diseases, with particular emphasis on intensive and emergency care.

Teaching methods
Analysis of case studies, practical training procedures.
Assessment methods
Attendance at exercises is mandatory (80%). Absences from exercises must be excused through the study department, and excessive absences cannot be made up; long-term absences must be addressed individually with the course guarantor. Part of the evaluation includes solving a case study assigned by the instructor.
