Course objectives
The course has a practical character, it is focused on acquiring practical skills in the area of ​​self-defense in the work of a medical rescuer.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- can define the biomechanical structure of preparatory battles - can explain the effect of basic exercises on the development of movement skills - independently applies the principles of creating basic battles - understands and can explain the principles of fall technique - will demonstrate the methods of lifting, carrying and lowering a live load - will demonstrate a selected fighting technique (punches, kicks, blocks) - will demonstrate a selected self-defense fitness program (TacFit) and a selected fitness test for self-defense (Jacik)
Syllabus
  • A. Introduction to the issue of preparatory battles: 1. characteristics of battles 2. systematics of battles B. Basic melee technique: 1. establishing contact 2. positions and transitions 3. relocation 4. arm movements 5. leg movements 6. lifting, carrying and lowering a live load 7. Falls (principles of falls, psychology, tactics and biomechanics of falls): - fall forward with a coup without stopping - fall backwards with a rollover without stopping - falling forward without overturning without stopping - fall forward with a rollover with a stop - side fall with impact - falling backwards with a stop C. Basic attacks: 1. tug-of-war 2. overpressures 3. resistances D. Selected fighting techniques (punches, kicks, blocks) E. Development of fitness in self-defense F. Self-Defense Fitness Testing G. Battle games

Interpretation, exercises, drilling Self-study tasks: study of recommended literature, study of MU e-learning publications, independent practice. Task check: input of questions and tasks in the course, final exam.

Active participation in teaching. Completion of fitness program and fitness test. Lifting, carrying and lowering a live load.
