Course objectives
The follow-up course objective is to develop the basic assessment methods the students were familiarized with in the previous semester and equip students with the knowledge and skills related to process and outcomes pupils' learning.
Objective of the course:
• become familiar with the assessment of pupils' results;
• understand and apply assessment of pupils' learning styles and their preconceptions;
• to meet the assessment methods of the self-concept of the pupil;
• get experience with assessment of classroom climate pupil positioning in the group;
• have an overview of the types of individual support plans and create a plan for the selected pupil while respecting his or her individual needs.
Learning outcomes
Student:
• knows methods for assessment of the pupils' conception;
• applies one of the methods of diagnosing pupils' learning styles in practice and reflects them;
• knows the types and forms of assessment used to assess pupil outcomes;
• gets an experience at least one of the methods how to asses relationships in the class or class climate;
• interpret results of psychological and special pedagogical examination.
Syllabus
  • • analysis of pupils' preconceptions in practice;
  • • observation of the pupil learning, analysis of partial pupils' products (concept, notes, sketch), pupil portfolio analysis;
  • • recording from the observation to the class teacher's evaluation;
  • • creation of evaluation criteria for a specific learning outcome;
  • • getting experience with self-assessment of pupils;
  • • record of observations and interviews to identify students' coping strategies (or Case Assessment method);
  • • individual plan - creation for selected pupil.

Assessment methods
Reflection of student seminar work and his/her portfolio + oral exam, peer-review.
Term paper is evaluated according to the following criteria:
• use the correct terminology of educational assessment;
• collection of assessment data to the objective planned assessment activities;
• evaluation and interpretation od the assessment data;
• definition of the diagnosis and suggestion of possible measures.
