Course objectives
The student understands, explains and applies in practice the knowledge of physical education in the field of athletics, hiking and outdoor activities. He/she can use the acquired knowledge and skills in the development of physical abilities and skills of children of younger school age.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student is able to understand the theory and practice of athletics and outdoor living. He/she has the skills to practically master the techniques of disciplines corresponding to the athletics and hiking curriculum in grades 1 to 5 of primary school.
Syllabus
  • 1-12: Extension of the stack of preparatory exercises and games for individual athletic activities using the aids of the Czech Athletic Association's athletic kits (project Athletics for Schools). Basic rules and organizational guidelines for the implementation of athletic movement activities and movement games. Safety during games. Creation of a stack of movement games suitable for teaching physical education at the first level of primary school. Outdoor course 3 days: basic movement activities for use in outdoor schools. Basic orienteering and topography, physical education in nature, movement games in the meadow, movement games in the forest, basic boating, basic first aid in nature.

Teaching methods
Demonstrative, and practical.
Assessment methods
Active participation in teaching. Practice of athletic and game skills, mastering the technique of athletic and game skills, demonstration of organization of athletically oriented movement games on the given topic. Active participation in the course of hiking and staying in nature, participation in the organization of physical activities suitable for pupils in the 1st-5th grade of primary school.
