Course objectives
Students will receive basic information on volunteering, its principles incuding the ethical dimension of volunteer work. Students will be informed about various types of volunteering, gain practical experience and have an opportunity to share and reflect on the experience.
Learning outcomes
Students developped organizational skills and communicative competence, initiative and independence when working with persons and groups with diverse needs. Students have gained experience with volunteering and enhanced active and proinclusive attitudes.
Syllabus
  • 1) Introductory meeting (online): volunteering, principles of work and ethical principles, administrative requirements, choice of institution and activities
  • If a student is interested in volunteering, but does not know which institution or activity to choose, s/he is welcome to the introductory meeting where preferences and available volunteer internships can be dicscussed with the teacher (or anytime before or after the meeting).
  • 2) Choice of institution and approval by the teacher, administrative requirements
  • 3) Volunteer internship/work
  • 4) Group reflection and administrative completion of the course

Confirmation of volunteer work (minimum 40 hours). Group reflection.

Teacher's information
The initial online meeting in autumn 2024 will take place on Monday 30 September from 16-17:30 (4-5:30 pm.) in the MS Teams platform.

The link will be sent by mail.

Group reflection will take place in the exam period January/February 2025 in the form of a face-to-face meeting. Suggestions for dates for voting will be sent at the beginning of January. Two meetings will take place.
