Course objectives
The aim of the course is to improve language skills and communicative skills of the students (reading, listening, speaking and writing) develop dialogue and monologue speech. At the end of this course the student will be able to understand the basic principles and components of contemporary Russian spelling; deepen spelling skills; to explain particularly difficult spelling phenomena.

Teaching methods
Attendance 80 % (two absences allowed).Student must actively participate in the class, prepare regulary home assignments. Reading and listening Russian texts.
Assessment methods
Colloquium - oral and written test. The discussion will be based on the topics from the course, the reading (Russian book - 100 - 130 p., the student will bring and show the book, and listening (audio, video, DVD). The student will also provide a vocabulary exercise book, which will contain at least sixty new words. During the credits the student will be assessed according to correct grammatical forms of words used, the content and used vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation.
