Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to acquire the basic knowledge connected with the phenomenon of narrative, the development of practical skills connected with narrative performance in the act of living narrative - following the use of work with the story in the practice of social pedagogue. As part of the course, learners will participate in the Living Libraries program.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- describe the main features of working with a story with people with a difficult life situation;
- explain the main principles of the living library method;
- to use (tell) a story following the practice of a social pedagogue.

  • - Story - construction, construction, conventions
  • - Story written / narrated
  • - Material vers. Work / story vers. Its recovery in the mode now and here
  • - Imagination, imagination, fantasy - in narrative practice
  • - The narrator's imaging tools - multi-layered communication
  • - Narrative as a craft - craftsman, tools, procedures, material, work
  • - Creative work on the theme of the story, its processing for live narration

Náhradní absolvování
In the case of a study abroad trip, it is possible to take the course in an alternative form. The learner will study compulsory literature from the syllabus and write excerpts from it, as well as attend and reflect in writing on the living library session. He/she further discusses his/her excerpts and the living library experience with the course supervisor.
