- Course objectives
- The main objective of this course is the definition of social work, the role of the social worker, the basic methods of social work, acquired of concepts of social work with the client, group and community and familirazation with Act on social services.
- Learning outcomes
- Student si able to:
Define social work and the role of the social worker
Define concepts of basic methods of social work
Apply social work with a client, group, community
Has an overview of Act on social services. - Syllabus
- 1. Social work – basic charakteristice of the field, objectives, methods and forms of social work.
- 2. Personality of a social worker (professional and personal profile, risk, supervision).
- 3. Social Services Act – definition of selected services, quality standards of social services, qualification requirements.
- 4. Transformation of social services.
- 5. Basic methods of working in social work with people with disabilities or social disadvantage.
- 6. Counseling process (definition, phase of counseling).
- 7. Social worker at school and health services.
- 8. Ethics in social work.
