Course objectives
The course introduces to the students different types of situations in which the teacher has to interfere educationally. Through relevant theoretical concepts, current research results and appropriate curricular documents, that relate to the educational component of the teacher's educational work, the students will learn about the dynamics, possible causes and solutions of behavioral problems in the school environment. The seminar focuses on the practical application of the acquired theoretical knowledge. Based on the analysis of the real case studies, the students will become familiar with the techniques and methods which are considered to be crucial in the process of managing the challenging situations in the classroom. The students will practice the introduced techniques on model situations in groups.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- explain the importance of the educational component of the teacher's work,
- evaluate and compare various educational strategies,
- detect situations in the classroom that require her/his educational intervention,
