- Knowledge of the basic theoretical concepts of reflective learning. Knowledge of active learning methods and elements of experiential pedagogy, orientation in critical thinking methods. Practical experience in an institution providing social services or in an institution with a socio-pedagogical dimension (min. 80 hours of direct work).

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to realize a practical internship in an organization/institution with a social-pedagogical dimension. The students* will join three selected organisations/institutions working in the social or pedagogical sphere. Here they then carry out 8 hours of "shadowing" ideally of a senior executive (i.e. 24 hours in total). The student*will work under the mentorship of the staff member*coordinating*the institution/organisation/service. The learner will become familiar with the documentation of the organisation/institution (founding documents of the organisation, strategic development plans, annual reports, funding methods, fundraising, etc.). In addition to the above tasks and observation of the work of the worker*person, this part of the practicum will also include a conversation with the worker*person on leadership and management of the service/organization. The student will then submit a written reflection on these interviews.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will be able to compare and evaluate different approaches to organizing and managing services for specific target groups in society. The student will be able to compare and evaluate different approaches to managing an organisation/institution with a socio-pedagogical dimension. The student will be able to identify the key elements of successful leadership of an organisation/institution with a socio-pedagogical dimension. The student will be able to develop skills in reflection and self-reflection, particularly in the context of social pedagogical practice and leadership.
- Syllabus
- Shadowing: 1) At least one month prior to the start of the internship, the student will announce the scope, form and location of the teaching internship and provide the necessary documentation. Upon completion of the practicum, the student/teacher will submit the required deliverables to the instructor. The student will complete a total of 24 hours (3 x 8 hours) in the organizations. 2) Students will approach a non-state organization/public or private institution with an offer of practical cooperation and consultation in the field of social pedagogical practice (the department will offer a network of cooperating organizations, which can be supplemented in agreement with the course guarantor) 3) Students will get acquainted with the documentation of the organization, processes leading to the creation of strategic documents, projects, organization of work, etc. 4) Learners will conduct an in-depth interview with a selected employee and submit a written reflection of these interviews, where they will attempt to compare three implemented approaches to service/organization management that they could*and have observed in practice. Organisations working in the social sphere with a registered social service or social worker in practice. The facilities/services visited may include: 1. Homes for the elderly 2. 2. 3. Social activation services (for different target groups) 4. Asylums, therapeutic communities, residential homes (for different target groups) 5. Therapeutic and sheltered workshops 6. institutions for foster family care 7. Outreach programmes 8. Low-threshold day centres 9. Crisis and contact centres 10.School counselling centres

Desired Outcomes: Learners will conduct an in-depth interview with a selected staff member*and submit a written reflection of these interviews, attempting to compare three implemented service/organizational leadership approaches that he/she may have observed in practice. Organizational Instructions: At least one month prior to the start of the practicum, the student* will announce the scope, form, and location of the teaching practicum and provide the necessary documentation. Upon completion of the practicum, the student will submit the required deliverables to the instructor. The student will complete a total of 24h (3 x 8h) in the organisations. What to do at the internship? Observe senior employees and their work, study the basic documentation of the organization.
