Prerequisites
The course is enrolled by a student who will write a diploma thesis at the Department of Geography. Typically in the second semester of the master's follow-up study, or in the eighth semester of the long (five-year) master's study.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to lead students to develop and defend a thesis project, to compile a literary research and select appropriate research methods.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- formulate the objectives of the final work,
- process literature search,
- present partial results of own research.
Syllabus
  • The content consists of individual consultations of the student with the supervisor of the diploma thesis on a topic that the student has chosen in agreement with him. You can choose the topic of the diploma thesis in geography from the previous agreement with the supervisor, or propose it in the package Diploma thesis - geography.
  • Students attend an introductory seminar, where they are acquainted with the requirements for writing a thesis at the Department of Geography.
  • It is assumed that at the end of the course the student has a project of the final thesis, which he defends on the diploma day.

Teaching methods
Individual consultations during the work on thesis.
Assessment methods
A condition for granting credit is regular consultation with the supervisor. Course is completed with the submission of Diploma thesis project and its presentation on the diploma day. Credit is awarded by the diploma's thesis supervisor.
