Course objectives
The purpose of this course is to provide the students with verified knowledge of different teacher’s treatment to various groups of schollchilds in problems. The students will be acquainted with valid and practically used procedures for teachers and their work in the class, with techniques of communication with parents. The students will also get familiar with possibilities how to correct inconveniences under the conditions of a psychological guidance.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will: - be able to understand the basic attitudes, procedures and methods of human diagnostics from the point of view of a common observer - teacher - psychologist and to explain the models of school performance and labour performance determinants. - to develop his/her professional diagnostic and teacher skills on the basis of acquired knowledge.
Syllabus
  • 1. Possibilities and limits of inclusive education 2. Children with special educational needs (mental disability, CAN, autism spectrum) 3. The "case management" phenomenon in consulting practice 4. Communication with parents of a child with special educational needs 5.Assessment of developmental characteristics of school-age children 6.Role of the teacher in counseling 7.Cooperation of teacher with school counseling facilities; 8. Teacher cooperation with clinical workplaces (eg Consultation of psychosomatic difficulties of pupils); 9. Crisis intervention and its subtypes 10. Teacher in the prevention of social pathology 11.Detection and change of maladaptive coping mechanisms (automutilation). 12.Case study.
