- Detailed analysis of the simple sentence. Differences between complex and compound sentences. Finite, non-finite, and verbless clauses and their syntactic functions. Simple and complex coordination. Sentence types and discourse functions. Semantics and grammar of adverbials. Pro-forms and ellipsis.

The function of subordinate clauses. 12. Compound sentence. 13. Non-finite and verbless clauses. 14. Pro-forms and ellipsis. 15. Simple and complex coordination.
