Předpoklady
The course presents basic terms and methods of text analysis (discourse analysis), focusing on the summary and practice of the knowledge and skills obtained in the field of linguistics (phonetics, morphology, lexicology, normative and communicative syntax) and their application on the material of texts of different registers and styles with regard to social context. The course also trains student for preparation of authentic texts when creating study materials in ELT, providing interactive language practice.

Cíle předmětu
Cílem předmětu je shrnutí a procvičení získaných dovedností v oblasti gramatiky a jejich aplikace na celkové texty z různých registrů a stylu. Dále pak osvojení dovedností analyzovat lingvistické prvky s ohledem na jejich roli ve vytváření struktury a celistvosti textu, zvláště v gramatické koheze. Dále kurz zahrnuje aplikace zjiskanych dovedností v oblasti studia dizkurzu při tvorbě studijních materiálů pro středoškolské studenty.

Text analysis - markers of formality and politeness. 9. Spoken text analysis - markers of subjectivity and implicitness. 10. Written text analysis - markers of objectivity and explicitness.
