Course objectives
The course covers the area of syntactic characteristics of the English sentence, focusing on the compound sentence (coordination) and the complex sentence (subordination). It also deals with complementation of verbs and adjectives (infinitive vs. -ing forms), and also the topics of clauses of result and cause, purpose, concession, time and relative clauses.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
ukončení: Zk (písemný test + ústní zkouška) Course evaluation: - attendance (more than two unexcused absences will not be tolerated) + homework - the final mark will be based on the overall average counted out of the autumn term results and all the three tests written in the Spring semester mid-term test + translation + written credit test
