Course objectives

The goal of the subject is acquiring basic knowledge on vocabulary formation, its evolution, enrichment and changes. Focus on the meaning and formation of words.

Syllabus

• 1. Word formation: - Derivation, composition - Grammatical category change - Abbreviations, acronyms 2. Paronyms. Homonyms. 3. Synonyms and periphrases. 4. Antonyms and anti-phrases. 5. Phraseology.
