Course objectives
The task of the subject is to provide students with the basic facts on the history of the Czech theatre and its prominent playwrights after 1945.
Syllabus
  • 1/ Czech theatre from 1948-1956 – general outline 2/ Czech drama from 1948-1956 – typical genres and their development 3/ Czech drama in the second half of fifties of the 20th century – new topics 4/ Czech theatre and drama from 1956 to 1962 – new generations of playwrights 5/ Alternative theatres 6/ Czech drama in the sixties of the 20th century – absurd drama, changes of the forms 7/ Czech theatre and drama in the 70th of the 20 century 8/ The development of the Czech drama during 90th in the 20th century – new tendencies
