Course objectives
Deepening the communicative competence of students. The basic textbook is the French method Les Francais, mentalités et comportements sans frontieres 4, which is complemented by literature mentioned below. The supposed language level after passing the course is C 1 in both productive and receptive skills according to European reference framework for languages. At the end of this course, students should be able to: understand extended speech and lectures, articles and reports concerned with contemporary problems provided that the topic is reasonably familiar; interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity, take an active part in discussion in familiar contexts while accounting for, and sustaining, their views; write an essay or report, passing on information or giving reasons in support of, or against, a particular point of view.
