The English course for intermediate students (level B1 CEFR) who can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc., who can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest, and can read texts and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to read and interpret short texts related to their field of study, give a short oral presentation on the subject of his/her study with appropriate B1 vocabulary and grammar range. In order to be credited, the student must submit all set home assignment, give in-class oral presentation, and succeed (70 % pass) in the final B1 credit test (vocabulary, grammar).

- Topic 1 Education in the CR and abroad. Focus on tertiary education. Topic 2 Work and professions. Job application. Plans for future. Topic 3 Meeting people. Friends, colleagues, partners. Topic 4 Making plans, making changes and dealing with them.

- Practical language class, home and in-class reading, grammar and vocabulary practice, class discussions, presentations given by students
- Assessment methods
- Credit requirements: Active participation and completing assignments, 80% attendance in a term, mid-term assessment. End-of-semester test (70% pass limit). Only students who have completed all assignments can sit the final test!!!
