- Course objectives
- Having met the course requirements, students are able to recall and explain basic theoretic questions of literary education the concept of the curriculum, reception process, principles of literary communication, methods of literary education and of interpretation. They will be able to apply the theoretical knowledge at primary school.
- Syllabus
- 1. Methodology of teachong literature as a scientific branch, basic literature. 2. The process of literary text reception, literary communication, the process of literary education and its parts. Reading, literary and cultural literacy. 3. The history of literary education at primary school, the developlment of readers as main didactic means, the function of the readers. 4. Literary education at primary school. Conception of literary education in the Framework Educational Programme for Primary School, curriculum terminology and specialist terminology, the subject and objectives of literary education, the key competences, cross-section topics, possible integration. 5. Reading, reading skills, valuation of reading skulls, the work with worse readers, understanding of various texts. 6. Teachers preparation for literary lessons and its parts (scientific, pedagogical, methodical). 7. The phases of literary lesson, motivation - functions, methods. 8. Interpretation of artistic text as one of the phases of liteary lesson, didactic interpretation - functions, methods. 9. Reproduction, creativity. 10. Teaching methods and forms of teaching organization leading to developlment of key competences (communictive competence, model situations, literary texts and life values). 11. Actual literary education. Reading books. Pupil as spectator (theatre, film ,television).

- Type of course: lecture. Methods: theoretical preparation.
- Assessment methods
- The type of course: lecture. Completion: credit. Requirements: students succeed in writing a test (close and open questions) focused on the main themes of the lectures - the conceptions of literary education, literary communication, teachers preparation for the lessons, the phases of the process of literary education, the methods of didactic interpretation, literary-aesthetic activities, actual literary education - and further questions (see the syllabus). The test usually consists of 10-12 open questions. The passmark is 70 percent of correct answers.
