Course objectives
The course Practical English A is focused on practising and consolidating of basic grammar a vocabulary on B1 level. Course objectives: 1) revision of grammar - tenses, word order, prepositions, adjectives (comparatives, superlatives), modal verbs practice; 2)revision and practising of vocabulary such as daily routines, family life - relationships, describing appearance, clothes, eating and drinking, leisure time, ways of communication, everyday useful phrases – introducing oneself, apologies, giving opinions, showing that you understand, etc. .

  • SZ7BP_AJA Practical English A Week 1 - Week 4 Grammar: Present simple, Present continuous; Vocabulary: Daily routines, Family life - relationships; Week 5 – Week 8 Grammar: Past simple, Past continuous, Preposition of time and place, Word order; Vocabulary: Describing appearance, clothes, Eating and drinking; Week 9 – Week 11 Grammar: Present Perfect, Past vs. Present Perfect, Expressing future in English; Vocabulary: Everyday useful phrases – introducing oneself, apologies, giving opinions, showing that you understand, etc.; Week 12 – Week 14 Grammar: Adjectives - comparatives, superlatives, Modal verbs; Vocabulary: Leisure time, Ways of communication

Teaching methods
Weekly forty-five-minute seminars designed for teaching Practical English (acitvities developing students' awarness of language skills and systems within B1 level - grammar and vocabulary practice,listening and reading tasks, and other speaking activities etc.).
Assessment methods
Course requirements: 1) Active participation in classes and careful home preparation, 2) Final test – grammar + vocabulary covered in the lessons (passmark: 60%)
