Course objectives
The objective of the course is to broaden their theoretical knowledge of Czech literature in terms of practical experience. During a one or three day excursion, the theme of which is annually updated, students supervised by a mentor teacher learn about a selected literary work, place or document. Students will be able to use and demonstrate the acquired knowledge in practice.

Teaching methods
Students will be able to recognise and describe literary trends and movements of Czech poetry and prose, as well as the specific nature of their poetics. They will be able to identify and analyze the style of outstanding personalities of Czech poetry and prose, significant for the particular period. Students will further develop their literary knowledge and interpretational skills with the aim to communicate with a literary work more efficiently.
Assessment methods
Students will present results of their work in written form (seminar paper) and in the form of mini-lectures. They will develop their ability of critical thinking.
