- Course objectives
- The concept of aesthetics, its origin and structure. The main problems of aesthetics as a discipline. The basic aesthetic terms. Knowledge of basic resources and aesthetic essence. Introduction to the basic stages of development of aesthetic thought. At the end of the course students will be able to explain the basic concepts of art history and aesthetics, along with selected sections of the history of aesthetic thought and be able to understand the selected sections of aesthetic thought.

- 1. What is the aesthetics and what is it for? 2. Aesthetics and its subject 3. Introduction to the history of aesthetic thought 4. Concise History of World and Czech aesthetic thought 5. Taste versus bad taste (versus kitsch art) 6. inspiring influence children's art, or "art at the edge" or "raw art" J. Dubuffet or the "art of the mentally ill" 7. Psychological methods of human interaction through art (art therapy, music therapy, drama therapy, bibliotherapy, dance and movement therapy, etc.). 8. Aesthetics and media and new information technologies 9. Commercialization of aesthetics (the commercial exploitation of aesthetics - advertising, sports, snobbery) 10. The ideal of beauty in the history of European civilization 11. significant contribution of selected personalities or work for the development of aesthetics or art history 12. The importance of symbols or colors in a person's life or art
