- Course objectives
- The students make use their knowledge of the course CJ2MP_JZDi to acquirement the research technique in dialectology and method of analysis of vernacular (dialectologic) texts and technique of method of treatment of the results of a dialectological research, e.g. use of a dialectological questionnaire. The students acquire linguistic geography and work with a atlas of dialects, too.
After finishing the course the students are able:
- to make analysis of the vernacular speech of the dialect;
- to recognize phenomena infintrating the dialect as current innovation. - Syllabus
- 1 Criteria of division the Czech national language into dialects.
- 2 Division of Czech into groups of dialects; mutual relationships among dialects and between dialects and literary language.
- 3 Transcription of vernacular speech in practice.
- 4 Dialectological excursion; research of the dialects in practice with the transcription the vernacular speech.
- 5 Interpretation of vernacular texts (their transcriptions).
- 6 Analysis of the innovative phenomena in dialects, especially in school-childrens speech.

Credit requirements: Student have to create a written works on a language situacion of a locality in question (students can choose the locality to describe or they can make the teacher understood).
That are evaluated the objective accuracy of the research report and the language and stylistic quality of the text, too. - Language of instruction
