- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic special pedagogical diagnostic tools and procedures in sighted and blind children, pupils and students.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to: -understand the procedures for investigating functional vision in special diagnostics -define possible signs of visual impairment or visual defects that can be recognized by the parent and educator - to recommend aids for everyday life of a person with a visual impairment depending on the degree and type of disability - Analyze the basic needs and measures for school work based on the degree of disability, the vision and the age of the child
- Syllabus
- • Tests of functional vision, visual therapy and functional vision assessment. • Significance of diagnostics of functional vision with focus on age and degree of visual impairment. • Special pedagogical diagnostics of visual functions and interdisciplinary cooperation in the diagnostic process. • Diagnostics of visual function in early and pre-school children. • Diagnostics of visual functions and related special educational needs in school-age children. • Diagnostics of visual functions during adolescence and adulthood. • Diagnostics of disorders in binocular vision and its significance. Special procedures. • Diagnostics of visual impairment in a child with multiple disability.
