- Course objectives
- Upon completion of the course the students will be able to understand, explain and use the basic knowledge of physical education with a focus on pre-swimming preparation and water games; the students will be able to use the knowledge and skills in the development of physical abilities and skills in preschool children and will be able to rescue a drowning child.
- Syllabus
- 1. Basic swimming terms, principles of swimming hygiene and safety, preparatory exercises on dry land. 2. – 5. Preparatory exercises and games to become familiar with water and to practice orientation in water, floating, exhaling in water. 6. Falls and jumps into water in an enjoyable way observing safety principles. 7. – 8. Upper and lower limbs in swimming – gradual and natural introduction the movement of the upper and lower limbs in crawl, backstroke and breaststroke. 9. – 10. Training of coordination in a selected swimming style (crawl, backstroke, breaststroke). 11. Principles of assistance to a tired swimmer, rescuing a drowning person. 12. Summary of the learning content, achievement of credit requirements.

- Active participation in lessons. Demonstration of swimming skills over a distance of 100 m without a time limit, knowledge of water games demonstrated by means of a written/practical test.
