Course objectives
The student will know the problematics of the symptomatic speech disorders: terminology within the classical speechtherapy, present view over the issue, indicidence of these disorders, causes and mechanism of the causes, classification, symptomatology, characteristics of symptomatic speech disorders by the physically disabled, by the children with cerebral palsy , by the hearing and visually impaired (blind), symptomatology going through all speech stages, the possibilities of assessment, the principles of the speechtherapy service care as a part of the complex rehabilitation of the individuals with symptomatic speech disorders. Characteristics of mental retardation, the development of the speech at the mentally retarded, the incidence of the symptomatic speech disorders at the mentally reaterded and the multihandicapped, assesment, the speechtherapy care as a part of the complex care of the mentally retarded and multihandicapped persons.
Learning outcomes
• orientation in individual forms of speech disorders in people with disabilities; • the ability to create a material to development of the communication skills of people with different disabilities.
Syllabus
  • The symptomatic speech disorders: causes and mechanism of the causes, classification. The symptomatic speech disorders by the physically disabled: the children with cerebral palsy. The childrens by the hearing and visually impaired (blind): symptomatology going through all speech stages. Characteristics of mental retardation: the development of the speech at the mentally retarded, the incidence of the symptomatic speech disorders at the mentally reaterded. The possibilities of assessment, the principles of the speechtherapy service care as a part of the complex rehabilitation of the individuals with symptomatic speech disorders,the persons of the multihandicapped disorders.
