- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is a detailled information about pedagogy of visually impaired. At the end of the course, students should understand and use data about: Categories of people with visual impairment, occurrence and causes, children with multiple handicap, deaf-blind children, peculiarities of psychical process by visually impaired, system of schools for visually impaired, counselling, special educational centres, technical aids, visual stimulation.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the student should be able to: -Classify visual impairment from a variety of perspectives -Analyze the impact of visual impairment on personality, everyday life and school work -recommend basic aids for everyday life and counseling institutions for a visually impaired client of varying degrees of visual imparment and of different ages
- Syllabus
- Diagnostics of visual impairment from the functional point of view.
- Special and compensatory aids for people with visual impairment and work with them. Use of computer technology in the education of pupils with visual impairment.
- Support for specific competencies of children and pupils with visual impairments. Mobility.
- Communication of visually impaired people - teaching Braille and its notation. Access to information.
- Life long counseling and intervention in visually impaired.
- Multiple disability. Deafblidness. The family of a child with visual impairment and MDVI.
