Course objectives
The purpose of the subject is an application of knowledge and abilities from the subjects Contemporary Czech language I-V. At the end of this course, student shall be able:
(a) to find suitable language phenomena in text (special type of pronounciation, special type of declination or conjugation, sentence, compound sentence...);
(b) proofreading; to correct inadequate turns of phrases in texts; to prove of the correctness of text and stylish value;
(c) to alalyse texts and explain his views and to give reasons for the views.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, student shall be able:

Syllabus
  • 1. Analysis of the written texts. Styl and textual procedures. Genres. Composition of the written texts.
  • 2. Syntactical structure of the text. Structure of the sentence. Compound sentence and combined sentence.
  • 3. Elements of sentence, syntactical relations and expression of them.
  • 4. Lexical units - words, multiverbal lexems, phraseology. Stylish characteristics of the lexical units. Semantic relations among lexical units (synonymous, antonymous). Multiple meaning of words.
  • 5. Morphological analysis of the texts. The most frequent morphological deviation compare to the codification. Word cathegory. Grammatical forms.
  • 6. Acoustic and graphical characteristics of the text. Pronounciation, changeng of the phones in speech. Assimilation of the voicedness. 7. Correcttion of the orthographical mistakes.

Teaching methods
Type of study: consultation. The study contains above all methods based on the thought operations, namely in applications, analysis and synthesis. methods of practising and consolidation the study topics, problem method, methods of individual and group work. Whereas the attendance of study for combined study form students is not compulsory and the number of contact lessons is low, self-study is expected.Attendance at continuous tests is set as compulsory.
Assessment methods
Requirements: study of literature, solving of practical tasks during the semester, successful completion of the mid-term test, successful passing the credit test at the end of the semester.
