Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the morphological system of the Russian language and special terminology that you need to know not only for further study of the grammatical system of the Russian language, but also for further study of individual linguistic disciplines. Attention is paid to the comparison of the Czech and Russian languages, attention is drawn to a positive transfer and linguistic interference in both languages. Teaching is in Russian.
Learning outcomes
At the and of this course students will be able to:
- define grammar categories of nouns, adjectives, pronouns in contemporary Russian;
- describe and identify parts of speech (nouns, adjectives, pronouns);
- compare the functioning of nouns, adjectives and pronouns in Russian and Czech.
Syllabus
  • 1. Object of morphology and basic morphological terms. Parts of speech. Grammatical categories of nouns.
  • 2. Declension of nouns. 1st declension in Russian (nouns in the singular, in the plural).
  • 3. 2nd declension of nouns. Variations in the second declension of nouns.
  • 4. 3rd declension of nouns.
  • 5. Noun formation in Russian. Undeclinable nouns.
  • 6. Adjectives, part-of-speech characteristic of adjectives.
  • 7. Morphological (grammatical) categories of adjectives: paradigmatic, short and long forms of adjectives.
  • 8. Comparison of adjectives, degree of comparison in Russian.
  • 9. Stress and orthography of adjectives.
  • 10. Pronouns and pronominal words. Personal, reflexive and possessive pronouns.
  • 11. Negative, demonstrative, indefinite pronouns.
  • 12. Revision.
