Course objectives
Student is able to: 1. understand and explain basic theory that is necessary for the work with digital geographic data,
2. understand the principles of work with geographic information systems (GIS) - (geographic data, software, hardware) and the use of GIS in practice,
3. understand and explain work with web map servers, their use in practice,
4. master the basic theory of remote sensing, including remote sensing materials - satellite and aerial photographs,
5. explain the physical nature of remote sensing,
6. master the basic theory of global positional systems,
7. understand the development of geoinformation skills in teaching.
In the exercises, they will practically acquire geoinformation skills, learn to work and use freely available map servers and applications for working with geodata, learn to control the ArcGIS on line program and its applications.
Learning outcomes
Student are able to: work with GIS program, especially ArcGIS on line, work with basic tools in GIS, work with web sites focused on the satellite image find suitable maps on the internet/ map servers, work with free downable data for GIS,to add WMS server or other GIS servers into GIS Student a re able to explain basic thero of geoinformatics, GIS, Remote Sensing and GPS, geographical informaton, geographical data, raster and vector data, TIn and Grid, surface model, analyse of terrain, sattelite data, senzors and other terminology.
