Course objectives
At the end of this course, the student will be equipped with basic knowledge of the didactics of history, will understand the specifics of the theory of history teaching and especially will be able to apply the acquired knowledge and competencies in teaching practice at primary school. He will also gain a basic overview of pedagogical documents of history (with regard to school practice, especially with emphasis on the possibility of adjusting the curriculum in the form of school educational programs) and will be able to implement their own preparation for teaching history. The foundations of collegial mentoring will be laid (based on a mutual evaluation of preparations for history teaching at the 2nd level of elementary school). Attention will also be paid to a retrospective of the history course (needed for history teachers at the 2nd level of elementary school) and selected currently solved problems of history didactics (eg current curriculum revisions, development of historical literacy, projects supporting history teachers, etc.).
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to apply didactic theory in teaching history at primary school.
