- Course objectives
- The course deepens the program of course JC4 and is focused on systemic comparison of Czech and French. In this course, other selected phenomena of French Grammar are practiced and worked with their application in various types of texts, authentic materials, related to the specialization of the field. Students deepen B1 level communication skills according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and have the opportunity to practice various morphological phenomena and to expand vocabulary. Individual language skills (interaction, listening, reading, writing, speaking) and linguistic competencies (grammar, vocabulary) are practiced too.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, students should be able to: understand extended speech and lectures, articles and reports concerned with contemporary problems, participate in the talks fluently and spontaneously, if the topic is reasonably familiar, participate actively in discussion in familiar contexts, accounting for and sustaining their views, write an essay or report, passing on information or giving an opinion. They should also be able to identify differences between the Czech and French languages and to translate easier texts from one language to another.
