- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to gain basic knowledge and skills necessary for socio- and economic –geographical knowledge in everyday life and practice of public administration. The prerequisite for this is a good mastery of traditional geographical practices, including search for news on the Internet and in newspapers.
- Learning outcomes
- After the course the student will be able to:
- analyze current problems of social and economic development of the city,
- implement of the results of field research into teaching at a elementary school in the form of case studies. - Syllabus
- Students work individually on specific case problem from social and economic geography, which includes analysis of the territory and the subsequent synthesis and presentation of the results. Within the output processing using conventional methods such as geographic research. Questionnaire survey, controlled interviews with selected representatives of state and local governments in the visited area, suggest possible improvements and measures suitable for the development of the locality or region. Students can pre-prepare relevant documents for a specified topics related to the visited location / region, so that together cover the entire spectrum of socio-geographic issues.
