- Course objectives
- This subject is focused on characteristics and comparation various kinds of art (architecture, painting, sculpture, literature and music) from the analogy, specifics and development point of view. The intention is to bring a more complex survey on art. Particular attention is placed on analysis of specific expressional means (signs) of the art works of the same or a similar topic and the issue of interpretation of the art work in general.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to understand the arts styles in a more complex survey.
- Syllabus
- Characteristics and comparation of particular kinds of art (architecture, paintings, literature and music) in their development periods. The course is focused on the art styles and schools from antiquity to romantism.
- Specifics and analogies of their expressional means and their relationships.
- Analysis of specific expressive means of art works relating to the same or similar subject.
- Problems of interpretation of works of art in general.
- Development of art in the line: Antiquity - art of the 19th century.
