Cíle předmětu
This course will primarily be based upon discussion. Through practice, students will become more comfortable and more proficient using more complicated structures. They will also develop a more sophisticated sense of the subtleties of English, (collocations, connotations, register, etc). Students will evaluate what they are learning and how they learn English in order to apply that awareness to their own teaching.

  • A series advanced texts will be read, analysed and discussed, with a special emphasis on vocabulary building, idioms,collocations and everyday english usage.

Metody hodnocení
Students must demonstrate a good command of use of english at an advanced level during the final exam. 65% pass mark is required in Use of english, Listening,Reading, and essay papers. Students failing one paper will resit that paper. Students failing more than one paper will resit the whole exam.

I recommend that students practice their practical language skills even outside of class: for example, by reading or listening to English or American news, or by engaging in conversation. Don't forget that I am always ready to meet with students, individually or in groups, to do this.
