Course objectives
In order to be enrolled for this course, the student’s language competence must correspond with level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This course prepares students to be able to use German scholarly texts in their studies as well as future professional life; it also develops their communication abilities in both spheres mentioned. Students work with written and recorded texts on B2 level with respect to specific features of the scholarly language in terms of lexical and stylistic devices as well as grammar. The course also involves giving presentations and writing abstracts, comments, essays and formal letters.
Syllabus
  • Topics: 1. Menschen in Deutschland und in Tschechien: Lebensformen und Generationen Fertigkeiten: Eindrücke äußern, präsentieren, vergleichen, diskutieren, Befragung durchführen Grammatik: Nominalkomposita - Wortbildung, Relativsätze, Konnektoren -adversativ, indirekte Rede 2. Zeit im Kulturvergleich, biologische Rhythmen Fertigkeiten: vergleichen und bewerten, Experiment beschreiben, Ratschläge formuliern Grammatik: Gradpartikeln, Konnektoren - temporal,Proportionalsätze, Verbpräfixe, Wortbildung 3. Arbeit und Beruf: Die Zukunft der Arbeit, Innovative Ideen, Multikulturelle Zusammenarbeit Fertigkeiten: Vermutungen anstellen, Diagramm erläutern, Kommentar abgeben, Erfahrumngen schildern Bewertung analysieren Grammatik: Verbvalenz, Konnektoren - kausale beziehungen 4. Lebensstil und Gesundheit Fertigkeiten: Kurzvortrag halten, Rollenspiele durchführen, Erfahrungen austauschen
