- Course objectives
- This course deals mainly with the semantic field of German Lexicology. It presents the system of semantic clusterings in the word-stock (synonymy, homonymy, lexical opposition, lexical hierarchy, collocations...) and points out lexical divergences between German and Czech (partly also English). One of the topics of this course is lexicography.
At the end of the course the students can analyse context bound lexical units in any German text, explain their paradigmatic as well as syntagmatic function in the particular text. Further they can compare the German lexical system with the Czech (Slovak) one. They can also evaluate the most common mono and multi lingual dictionaries. - Syllabus
