- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to develop speaking, reading, writing and listening skills at the Upper-Intermediate Level. The basic study material is the coursebook New English File Upper-Intermediate supplemented by various additional materials. At the end of the course students should be able to: discuss everyday topics, communicate in everyday situations, read and listen to authentic texts at the Upper-Intermediate Level and communicate in the language fluently.
- Syllabus
- The basic study material is the coursebook New English File UPPER-INTERMEDIATE (Student's book and Workbook), see Literature bellow. The syllabus includes Units 1-3, the focus is on speaking and listening activities and development of students' vocabulary.

- Teaching methods
- lectures, class discussion, pair work, group work, brainstorming, individual assignments
- Assessment methods
- Students have to pass a final test (70%) focused on the vocabulary and grammar covered and the final oral exam proving their overall grammar and vocabulary knowledge (70%) at the end of the term. Students have to prepare for lessons throughout the whole term and do homework for each lesson, which is the base for their active participation in the seminars. Most of the work is based on students' self-study.
