- Course objectives
- The purpose of the seminary is to create a discuss frame, in which the students focuse on analysing of present social – political problems of czech and abroad milieu. At the end of the course, the students will be able to: - Define the basic terms of social policy. - Explain the basics and structure of social policy as a part of social sciences. - Explain the topical issues of social policy, outline the possible outcomes and possibilities to solve them, using the facts from the reading and own experience. - Evaluate the importance of topics covered for the theory and practice of social policy. - Explain and define positions and values in the processes of social policy.
- Syllabus
- Conception and subject of social politics. Basic principles, aims, ideas of social politics. models of social politics. Social stratification and social security. Social help and social services. Eployement policy, health policy, family policy, housing policy, educational policy. Process of transformation of social policy in the Czech Republic. Social policy in chosen european countries.1989 and decription of sense, aim and results of social policy mechanisms.
